Our programmes
Creative experiences that nurture wellbeing, connection and personal growth. At Pegasus Project CIC, we bring together psychological understanding, creative expression and the restorative qualities of nature.
Our programmes offer opportunities for children, young people and adults to explore their creativity, build confidence, develop meaningful connections and experience the therapeutic benefits of working with their hands.
Based at our beautiful studio on the historic Castle Ashby Estate in Northamptonshire, our activities are designed to be welcoming, inclusive and supportive of individual needs.
Discover the restorative experience of working with clay in a calm, supportive environment.
Our small-group and individual sessions offer opportunities to explore creativity, express emotions, reduce stress and connect with others.
No previous experience with clay is necessary. The emphasis is on the experience of creating, rather than producing a finished piece of pottery.

Space to just be…
Clay well-being sessions for children and adolescents
A place to be yourself, not to fit a mould.
Every child deserves somewhere they can feel accepted, understood and free to be themselves.
Our small, welcoming creative wellbeing groups offer children and young people a relaxed, nurturing environment where there are no expectations to perform, achieve or create anything in a particular way.
Facilitated by an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist, these sessions are not formal psychological therapy. Instead, they offer a psychologically informed space where individual differences are understood and respected, and where creativity, curiosity and enjoyment take centre stage.
Working with clay can provide a wonderfully grounding, sensory experience, offering opportunities to decompress, ease everyday stresses and express thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to put into words. This flexible, hands-on approach can be particularly welcoming for neurodivergent young people, including those who experience anxiety or find more conventional activities challenging.
Above all, these groups are about having fun, discovering possibilities and enjoying the freedom to create.
And while children may take home something they've made, the real value lies in the experience itself — the sense of connection, accomplishment and freedom that can develop through simply working with clay.

Traditional kick wheel experience
Unlike modern electric pottery wheels, the Leach kick wheel is powered entirely by the potter's own movement. There is no motor, no electricity and virtually no mechanical noise — just the subtle sound of clay moving beneath the hands.
Working with a kick wheel is a whole-body experience. The gentle movement of the foot, the rhythm of the wheel and the sensitivity of the hands come together in an intuitive, almost meditative process.
The potter becomes part of the wheel itself, responding naturally to the clay and controlling its movement through their own energy, balance and rhythm. Each piece develops through this quiet dialogue between body and material, making the experience deeply personal.
With fewer of these beautiful wheels remaining in active use, we are delighted to offer an opportunity to experience and help preserve this extraordinary traditional craft.
A timeless connection between body, mind and clay.
Experience the gentle rhythm and quiet beauty of working with a traditional Woodley Leach kick wheel — a remarkable piece of British pottery heritage that is becoming increasingly rare.

“Technique is a means to an end.
It is no end in itself.
If the end is achieved and a fine pot comes out of the kiln, let us not be hypercritical about fortuitous blemishes.
Some of the most beautiful pots in the world are full of technical imperfections.”
— Bernard Leach
The Quiet Magic of the Traditional Leach Kick Wheel
Art for well-being
A space to explore, express and discover — without expectation.
Sometimes, we all need a quiet space away from the demands of everyday life. Somewhere to slow down, reconnect with ourselves and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating.
Our art and creative wellbeing groups offer a gentle, supportive environment where there is no pressure to produce a finished piece of artwork, no right or wrong way of doing things, and absolutely no need for previous artistic experience.
Through playful exploration of colour, texture and different materials, participants are encouraged to develop confidence in their own creative expression, experiment freely and discover what feels meaningful to them.
Colour can offer a wonderful way to explore emotions, express individuality and communicate experiences that may be difficult to put into words. The creative process itself can provide opportunities for quiet reflection, relaxation, self-discovery and a sense of accomplishment.
These sessions are not about learning to paint perfectly or producing something beautiful for others. They are about finding the freedom to explore, enjoying the process and discovering the confidence to trust your own creative instincts.
Whether you choose to create something vibrant and expressive, work quietly with subtle colours, or simply enjoy sketching or experimenting, there is space for you to be exactly as you are.
